STARS

Students Taking a Right Stand (STARS) Joins National Kick Butts Day March 28, 2007 Chattanooga, TN - Young people from Students Taking a Right Stand (STARS) joined thousands of kids across the country to take part in Kick Butts Day (KBD), a nationwide initiative that assembles youth leaders in the effort to stop youth tobacco use. As part of the Kick Butts Day celebration on Wednesday March 28th, STARS youth leaders initiated a “Project 1200” display at Coolidge Park that incorporated 1,200 empty pairs of shoes to represent the 1,200 tobacco-related deaths that occur each day in the United States.

Ansley Reagan, Miss Hamilton County 2007, volunteered and spoke to the youth about the importance of keeping up your strength and stamina. She explained how tobacco robs you of your energy, and encouraged youth to make the right decisions when confronted with tobacco products.
