There are many opportunities to serve the needs of elderly people, especially those who have no family to help fulfill their needs. Things you can do as a volunteer that will be appreciated include:

• Volunteer at a local nursing home or retirement facility
• Become a legal guardian as a volunteer
• Offer to go grocery shopping for an elderly individual
• Entertain by singing or playing an instrument at a local nursing home or retirement facility
• Visit a nursing home or retirement facility on a holiday
• Adopt-A-Grandparent
• Support community organizations that provide direct services to the elderly
